Instrument lab

Poluchem Laboratories is fully equipped with modern analytical instruments and able to analyse the samples of drinking water, Industrial water, wastewater, solid wastes, gaseous emissions and the like for any relevant parameters. In addition to that we have facilities to Monitoring of stacks, ambient air, sound level, light intensity etc. We also carry out regular monitoring of the ETP & STP and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for project studies and approval with the support of these facilities. Our microbiology lab is fully equipped with pH Meter, Bio Safety Cabinets, UV cabinet, Incubator, Autoclaves, Digital Controlled water baths, Hot air oven, Colony counter and Microbalances.

    Our major instruments are
  1. Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers (AAS) - capable of analyzing metals and trace metals in water, wastewater, soil and sludge samples. These instruments are capable of analyzing 21 metals, which broadly cover all the potential metals that need to be determined in an analysis.
  2. Gas Chromatograph (GLC - FID) - capable of analyzing pesticides and hydrocarbon products to precision.
  3. UV/Visible Spectrophotometer - for quantitative measurement in environmental, water, wastewater, fine and industrial chemical analysis.
  4. Flame Photometer - this microprocessor based unit can be used for the estimation of sodium, potassium and calcium in single aspiration of a sample.
  5. Noise level meter - used to measure equivalent sound pressure level produced by different sources. All features considered essential for field surveys have been included in this portable instrument such as data recording facility with multiple file storage to record 24 hours data at 1 minute intervals. Measuring range is 34 to 134 dBA in three 50dB overlapping ranges.
  6. High volume air sampler- 30 nos (PM10 and PM2.5) - used to measure the Suspended Particulate Matter present in ambient air. This instrument has also the provision for incorporation of a gaseous sampling unit for simultaneously monitoring gaseous pollutants like SO2 and NO2 present in ambient air.
  7. Stack monitoring kit - for simultaneous sampling for particulate matter and gaseous pollutants. It can be used to measure the stack temperature range from ambient to 600 deg.C and stack velocity range of 0-60m/s. The Particulate sampling of 2-30 (thimble type filter), up to 0.3 micron rating (borosilicate glass impingers) and gaseous sampling of 0.2-3 lpm (borosilicate glass impingers) are possible by this instrument.
  8. RSPM sampler- used to monitor the air quality parameters SPM (Suspended Particulate Matter) and Respirable fractions (RSPM) (i.e. particles that are smaller than 10 microns in size).
  9. Wind monitor - designed to provide all the three wind characteristics required for pollutant dispersion and air quality modeling. The system measures ambient temperature, wind speed, wind direction and Relative humidity. The hourly data is stored in the logger memory and can be retrieved at appropriate intervals.
